JC’s Passion Project
Chiwi Hope Foundation is the passion project of Juan Jose Cumar (“JC”), a proud Chilean-Kiwi. The ocean has always been his happy place—a source of inspiration, challenge, and grounding.
As a child, JC faced many challenges. It was sport, a solid education, and the guidance of great role models that kept him on track. Never afraid to try, he combined hard work with building strong relationships while growing up in Chile and, since moving to New Zealand in 2006, has been “lucky” enough to create a fulfilling life.
Chiwi Hope Foundation is about helping kids find their own “luck”—by giving them the same formula:
- Access to good role models
- Quality education
- Learning to care for their bodies and minds through sport and physical activity
And while doing all this, we teach them to care for our planet and protect our oceans.
The main sponsor of Chiwi Hope is JC’s business, Success Avenue, a local financial services company on the Hibiscus Coast. JC donates a portion of business profits to the foundation, as well as 100% of the profits generated by the Success Avenue App.
These sponsorships have already allowed us to start supporting programs in our community. But JC doesn’t want to do this alone. The more businesses and individuals who come on board, the greater the impact we can create together empowering the kids of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.
